A fragment of a copper alloy Roman (AD c.43-100) Colchester derivative (dolphin) brooch, consisting of just the wings, a fragment of the spring and a short length of the brooch. It measures 22.35mm long, 20.80mm wide and 9.95mm thick. It weighs 4.06g. The wings are C-shaped in section with a central lug projecting from the top through which the spring passes. All that remains of the spring is the straight section that passes through the central lug and the beginning of one of the coils. A bow with central aris and grooves down its sides extends from an indeterminate mid bow moulding to a drum shaped pedestal foot. An unpierced catch plate projects from the back of the bow, with the stub of a fold at its end. Suggested date: Early Roman, 80-160. Length: 28.8mm, Width (pedestal): 6.1mm, Thickness (base of mid bow moulding): 4.5mm, Weight: 3.59gms.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman bow brooch of Colchester derivative with double pierced lug. It is missing a wing, part of the lug, the pin, axis bar and spring due to old breaks, now worn. An incomplete copper alloy Roman (AD c.200-410) plain nail cleaner with a straight sided blade, missing an unknown length of the stem and possibly a top loop. The object measures 42.70mm long, 4.25mm wide and 2.65mm thick. It weighs 1.18g. The point is bifurcate and measures 4.25mm wide and 0.85mm thick. It narrows in width to 2.40mm but expands in thickness to 2.00mm at about halfway along its length. A copper alloy suspension loop probably from a Roman bell dating from AD 43 - 410. The loop is a pointed arch with a circular hole through it. The base flares in all directions and is broken where the wall of the bell would have extended. A small iron projection from the centre of the base is all that remains of the ferrous hammer (clapper) that would have struck the bell. The metal has a well developed grey green patina. Compare BERK-3649A5 for a more complete example, and a published example is number 4168 on page 127 of Crummy (1981).

A complete copper-alloy Roman Nail, possibly from Roman furniture upholstery. The head is globular with an integrally cast square shaft. This nail head measures 7.66mm in diameter, 7.22mm in thickness, the shaft is 3.75mm in thickness, 20.22mm in total length, 2.16g in weight. There are similar examples from Colchester (Crummy, 1983, pp.115, no. 2992, 2995).
