A Post Medieval copper alloy trading token of Benjamin Bowyer, dated to 1664, from Ashford.
Obverse: The Haperdashers' Arms. Inscription - BENIAMIN BOWYER
Reverse: HIS / HALF / PENY over three lines in central field. Inscription - IN ASHFORD 1664
The is a five-pointed star mintmark on both sides. The central motif and inscription on both sides are seperated by a beaded circular border, with a beaded border also around the edge of the coin.
