Fragment of a Roman copper alloy Umbonate plate brooch, the central boss with a minute fragment of the outer part, with two concentric rings of six formerly inlaid triangular cells around a central nipple. No enamel remains. Mackreth 2011, 164-5, Domed Boss type 6a or 6d. Extant diameter and width 16.5 and 20mm. 2nd century.

Medieval copper alloy seal matrix, hexagonally faceted handle with collar pierced terminal. A fragment of an iron chain link or suspension loop occupies the hole. Circular, diameter 18.5mm. Length / height 26mm. A cockerel walking left. * CROV ME DAI followed by a filler (Crow my day). This same legend has been recorded on matrices from Suffolk and Warwickshire (SF-6FB704 and WAW-A7F923), and on another from Merton, Norfolk (Rogerson and Ashley 2005, 735, no. 32). Its true meaning is uncertain. 14th century.

Post-medieval copper alloy harness mount, lozengiform with two integral round-sectioned attachment spikes on the reverse. In the centre four apertures mark the angles between the arms of a cross formed from five pellets in low relief, the whole surrounded by a circle of smaller pellets. Both ends are taken up with three pellets and the other two corners with a single one. Very similar to an example from Blaby, Leicestershire (LEIC-9AF306). 26 x 21mm. Thickness excluding spikes 1.5mm. 17th century.

Objects such as this are too flimsy to have been used on sword belts (de Reuck 2005). Length 44.5mm. Width 20.5mm. Mid 16th to mid 17th century.
