A large round copper alloy ring, which might be part of a horse harness, or could be, because of it's size more possibly a suspension ring for a cauldron, or a tethering ring. It is circular in shape with a round section of 7.5mm, thinning to 6.5mm in certain places, suggesting wear. It is difficult to ascribe a particular period to this piece. An undatable (but likely to be Medieval - Post-Medieval, c.1100-1800) conical lead weight with integral pierced loop. It stands 23.28mm in height with a base diameter of (max)19.06mm and weighs 33.32g. The apex is flattened (8.6mm wide) while the loop is formed of a continuation of the sides and is 3.8mm thick with a c.2mm diameter central piercing. Lead weights are difficult to date when found as stray finds, as they are used for long periods of time.

Unusual Roman copper alloy furniture fitting: elaborate stud resermbling a chess pawn sitting on a discoidal base with twin radial grooves, containing the corroded remains of inserted rectangular-sectioned iron shank (8mm x 5mm). Length 42mm (excluding iron shank). Diam. 21mm. Related to the more usual 'bell-shaped' mounts, see Allason-Jones and Miket 1984, 239-45. 1st - 4th century.

A copper alloy Roman knee brooch dating from AD 150 - 250. The head is a semi-circular plate behind which are two lugs, pierced to hold a axle on which the missing sprung pin would have fitted. Half of the copper alloy axle survives. The bow is bulbous at the top and tapers towards the foot. The front is slightly faceted into three vertical panels. The surface is damaged and the upper layers are missing in a band across the centre of the brooch. The foot curves forwards and behind is the remains of a catchplate. Eighty abraded body sherds of Vectis Ware found on the surface of grassland. Weight: 314.39g. 'Vectis ware is hand-made, well finished and relatively hard, being barely scratched with the fingernail. Its internal and external surface is partly reddish-yellow (Munsell Color 5YR 6/6), which is the colour yielded by a characteristic oxidised crust which is usually weakly visible due to a more general darkening of the final surface burnishing. An incomplete cast copper alloy and enamelled casket mount dating to the Roman period, circa AD50-250. All surfaces of the mount are worn owing to movement in the plough soil. The mount is flat. The unbroken end is square with sides that run parallel until the break. The reverse of the mount is flat and undecorated.
