A cast copper alloy Medieval annular brooch dating from the 13th or 14th Century. The buckle frame is of twisted round cable pattern but is smooth on the reverse face. The copper alloy pin has a collar and tapers to a sharp point. It is not clear whether the frame has a constriction for the pin owing to corrosion. The pin has two cast prongs which have been bent round the frame to form a loop with a butt joint. The brooch has a medium green patina with brown patches. For similar examples see Egan and Pritchard (1991: 249; 1310-11)
