A body sherd of a Roman (AD 43-410) wheel-made ceramic New Forest or Oxfordshire fine ware vessel. The fabric is a buff hue. The outer surface has traces of a black slip, which has survived reasonably well in two grooves.
Overall the sherd measures 45.15mm long, 33.55mm wide and 7.35mm thick. The thickness of the sherd in section is 4.05mm. It weighs 8.09g.
