Post-medieval copper alloy end cap from a knife with remains of the iron scale tang embedded in a slot. The form is very similar to that of a slightly larger example from Bracon Ash, Norfolk (HER 40911, NMS-4C844C1), but additional decoration comprises one horizontal and two vertical lines on both broad faces. Length of cap 12.5mm. Width 13mm. Thickness 6.5mm. 16th century.

A cast copper-alloy uniface coin weight of later Medieval to Post-Medieval date. It is circular in form and on the obvers face depicts St. Michael spearing a dragon right. The reverse is flat and undecorated. It measures 12.17mm in diameter, 2.95mm in thickness and 2.38g (36.6 grains) in weight. This is a copper-alloy coin weight for a half angel of later Medieval to early Post-Medieval date, falling just below the standard weight of 40 grains (Withers and Withers, 1995: pp. 21, 68). It dates to c.1464-1604 AD.

A complete lead token of post-medieval date. The token is bi-faced and is circular in plan with a thin rectangular section. The decoration consists of three lines of text on one face reading: [-----]//1780//[--]10. A crowned shield is present on the opposite face though is extremely worn. The token is pierced. The metal is a mid whitish-grey colour and is worn. The token is 24.3mm in diameter, 2.3mm thick and weighs 8.1g. Fragment of a heavily cast medieval multi-faceted 'archictectural' censer-cover, comprising part of a gable end with a knop on the lower angle, the lower edge and sides of the obliquely angled gable have engraved oblique lines forming crude bordering zig-zags. The vertical gable end is broken across a perforation, the angled roof has the remains of the lower ends of two rectangular perforations above two circular perforations (the one nearest the knopped angle is complete). A medieval cast copper alloy seal matrix. The matrix is of conical form; a sexfoil spreads downards and outwards form the handle and each petal ends in a point. Between the outer part of each petal is a small area of cross hatching. On one petal is a rounded pit which is intended as an aid to positioning correctly the top of the seal. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman brooch of uncertain type dating to the period c. AD50 - 200. The fragment comprises the catchplate, foot, and a fragment of the bow. The brooch measures 33.85mm in length, is 12.4mm wide at the widest point and weighs 5.76g. The bow tapers from the break point to the foot. The front of the bow is highly abraded. The catchplate is broadly triangular in cross section and is complete.

A fragment of a Roman ceramic mortarium from the Nene Valley kilns, dating from the early 2nd to 4th centuries (Tyers 1996: 127 - 129). The sherd represents part of the body and the rim of the vessel. The upper surface of the bowl has been impressed with crushed black ironstone inclusions, the surfaces of which are worn through use. The rim angles downwards and outwards, its surface decorated by four concentric ridges with interspersing grooves. The innermost ridge projects to a greater height than the others. An incomplete copper-alloy wheel from a post-medieval pastry jigger (AD 1700-1800). The openwork wheel is circular in plan with a central perforation. Four spokes located at the four cardinal points project outwards from the central perforation, although one spoke has been broken off near to the central point. The two surviving openwork recesses are broadly oval. The circumference of the wheel is decorated with deep incisions located on other faces and form a zig-zag cutting edge. A fragment of a Roman ceramic tegula roof tile. The sub-rectangular piece retains part of its right-angled rim, albeit in a damaged state. The core is light grey and there is a pinkish layer between it and the light brown surface. The temper material appears to consist largely of sand, with occasional larger inclusions of grog and stones. The edges are abraded. Length: 102.9mm; width: 86.1mm; height: 44.9mm; weight: 298.22g.
