A complete Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead circular uniface token, c. 1250-1800 AD. Powell Type 14. The token has been cast with a raised design of a equal arm cross with a pellet in each quarter on the obverse and a flat, undecorated reverse. The token measures 17.55 mm in diameter, 2.48 mm thick and weighs 3.9 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date. A cast copper-alloy thimble of Medieval date. It is complete but partially flattened on one side due to post-depositional damage. The thimble is hemispherical in form with an unthickened rim that is decorated with two incised parallel circumferential lines. Above the rim the sides of the thimble are decorated with numerous vertical rows of small circular indentations, above which are four circumferential rows of indentations leading to a bare tonsure at the top. A pointed oval Medieval copper alloy seal matrix. The seal matrix has an incomplete integral lug. In the centre is a depiction of the Paschal Lamb and flag. The inscription around the edge that reads + ECCE AGNVS DEI (Behold the Lamb of God). The length is 25.84 mm, the width is 16.77 mm, the maximum thickness is 2.62 mm. It weighs 4.27 grams. It is likely to be from the 14th century.
