Object type: DEBITAGE
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: County of Herefordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An irregular blade like flake of tertiary debitage, probably earlier Neolithic (3500 -2500 BC) in date. In plan the flake is sub-triangular and the ventral face has possibly been retouched with what seem to be even regular steep angled removals- other edges have what looks to be abrupt retouch although given the condition of the flake it is possible that some of this is abrasion through plough roll. The flake is a mid grey colour with areas of white coloured mottling.
The flake measures 36.5mm length, 21.0mm width, is 5.5mm thick and weighs 3.27 grams.
