An incomplete cast copper alloy coin balance for gold sovereigns, now in two joining pieces. The complete object had two pans of which parts survive. The balance dates to the first half of the 19th century
Pan 1 is stamped with: SOVEREIGN W[HOLE]
Pan 2 is stamped with: SOVER[EIGN HALF]
The weight itself bears a stamped crown and an iron pin forms the pivot.
