An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age (AD c.10-c.100) La Tène III Nauheim derivative brooch, missing the tip of the foot, most of the curl of the catchplate and the pin which has broken off at the spring. It has been bent out of shape. Overall it measures 39.95mm in length, 11.05mm in width and 18.75mm in thickness. It weighs 3.44g. The brooch has a three turn spring and a flattened bow, which is rectangular in section and tapers in width from spring to foot from 5.20mm to 1.35mm and expands in thickness from 1.35mm to 3.05mm. Post Medieval (mid 16th to 17th centuries) toy jug: An incomplete lead alloy miniature toy jug which is cast in a two piece mould as the seam is still visible along the side. The toy consists of a circular base with an abraded foot ring, and an incomplete bulbous container element. The exterior of which is undecorated. The rim is missing. A tertiary worked flint probably dating to the late Neolithic period, circa 2700-2350BC. Identified by Peter Reavil as a thumbnail / side-end scraper formed from the snapped end of a long blade. The scraper is complete. The dorsal and ventral sides of the scraper are light, milky grey in colour. An opaque, white patinated surface survives which was probably exposed while the rest of the flint remained below soil. A medieval gilt copper alloy mount. The mount is flat, rectangular and decorated with an incised perimeter. A lozenge incised line decorates the centre; the outer field is decorated with hatching. Lead and iron shot. Cast ball for a light musket, carbine or heavy pistol with a ferrous metal spike of diameter [now] 2mm passing centrally through it and projecting c.6mm. Possibly with a light belt or circumferential flattened area from firing; lightly patinated. This is probably part of an iron-stemmed dumb-bell shot, a modified form of ammunition for a smooth bore muzzle loading weapon.
