Very worn Medieval coin. Probably a halfpenny of Edward IV, as there appears to be a key to the right right of the neck. There may also be a letter to the left but it is too worn to decipher. Reverse has a quatrefoil in the centre of the cross and RACI is legible. This indicates York mint. possible class XXI, archiepiscopal issue.

A complete lead spindle whorl or weight of uncertain date. The object is circular in plan with a flat top and base and a central perforation running through it and is undecorated. The metal is a mid greyish-white colour and is worn. The object is 25.7mm in diameter, 7.1mm thick and weighs 26.9g. The perforation is 9.4mm in diameter. A cast copper alloy unidentified object of uncertain date, possibly a boss or mount, depicting a female face. The artefact is broadly circular in plan and concave in cross section. The face is abraded but the eyes, nose mouth and chin are visible. Above the face the hair contains an ornament. The object appears to have had a suspension loop which is missing, a fragment of a rivet survives on the reverse. The diameter is 35.42 mm. The weight is 18.42 grams. Similar busts can be found on Roman artefacts, the brown corrosion product on the front face of the mount suggests a later date…

An almost complete, cast copper-alloy seal matrix, dating to the Medieval period. The seal matrix comprised of an open work trefoil handle, the suspension loop is now broken. This handle is followed by a collar composed of three raised ridges, which widens into a facetted hexagonal seal base with circular seal matrix. The seal matrix face bears a design of a squirrel within a tressure of six arches. The legend is arranged in a border around the design. A complete lead cloth seal of post-medieval date. The seal is one remaining disc of a probable four disc type. It is flat and circular in form and is decorated on one face with the arms of Stuart Britain within a beaded border. The opposite side of the disc is flat and undecorated. The metal is a light brownish-white colour and is worn. The seal is 21.4mm in diameter and weighs 3.3g. The arms indicate a date range for the current example in the 17th century AD, c.1603-1707 AD.

A complete lead token of medieval to post-medieval date, circa AD 1200 - 1800. The token is uni-faced and is circular in plan with a thin rectangular section. The decoration consists of two central parallel lines from which six curves lines extend to either side. The resulting impression is that of the midrib and veins of a leaf. A silver artefact which is probably a sewing-ring that would have been used in a similar way to a thimble. This artefact is made from a tube of white metal 0.3mm thick, now squashed into a flattened oval but presumed to have originally been formed as a circular tapering cylinder. No join is visible. The tube has a height of 22.32mm. The lower edge has been folded out and upwards to form a neat rim 0.7mm high, that increases the thickness at the rim to 0.8mm. The upper edge has no rim and this results in some uncertainty as to whether this is where the artefact originally terminated…
