Object type: WEIGHT
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: East Riding of Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete lead weight of uncertain date. It is conical in profile with a circular base. The weight tapers from the base to a sub-rectangular apex where one point is slightly higher than the other. This is most likely the remnants of a suspension loop or perforation. The loop is missing due to either an old break or due to post-depositional processes. There is a flat, smooth recess that starts from the apex and stops abruptly about halfway down the weight.
The weight is undecorated and it is white-greyish in colour. The weight is 33.49mm tall, 20.36mm wide, 7.81mm thick and weig…

A fragment of a solid lead object, possibly a figurine, of uncertain date. It is in the form of a left forearm and hand grasping a vertical cylindrical object. The arm appears to have broken off the rest of the object at the elbow. The cylindrical object perhaps enabled the figurine to hold a spear without the the figures of the hand breaking.
Overall the object measures 40.95mm long, 13.15mm w…
