Ten pennies, one halfpenny and three farthings of Edward I, and three pennies of Alexander III of Scotland found scattered over a small area. All coins are remarkably close in date, the English coins all belonging to the first three classes of Edward's sterling long cross coinage (1279-81) and the Scottish to 1280-6. They clearly represent part of a dispersed coin hoard, either a buried deposit or, more likely given the presence of the fractions, a purse loss.
