A corroded wrought iron rotary key of a post-Medieval date. The bow is incomplete but was probably oval in plan. The stem is of oval cross section, with two baluster mouldings. The stem projects beyond the bit by 9.51 mm. The openwork bit is rectangular in plan, has two wards and three clefts on each side. Bit.22.35 mm x 24.71 mm x8.82 mm. Length of key 115.74 mm. An incomplete post-medieval cast copper-alloy strap-fitting. The artefact consists of a blunt hook, bent slightly to one side, which holds a separate pendent ring. Above the hook the mount is sub oval with two lugs above that bifurcate forming a V shape. Beyond this is mount is broken, so that it is now incomplete. The mount was attached by a single iron rivet in the centre of the oval element, just below the bifurcation, the corroded remains of which are still present in the fitting. An incomplete medieval iron dagger dating to 14th-15th century. It consists of three parts: a rectangular tang, a hollow ground lozenge-shaped blade and a needle point. The point was made by twisting the end of the blade. The shape resembles three possible medieval daggers. The rondel dagger was popular from the 14th century onwards and is identifiable by the rounded pommel and handguard (Weland, 2001, 90), which are no longer present. A cast copper alloy gilded rectangular decorative mount, probably of 12th century date. The mount has a central slightly raised openwork cinqfoil with very worn decoration comprising punced circles and lines. On each end of the mount is a tab with flaring sides and two rivet holes. Lower end of a Roman bow brooch, D-sectioned bow and a catchplate with a keyhole-shaped perforation. The front of the bow is decorated with a pair of transverse grooves near the top of the catchplate and with a single groove just above the terminal. A channel alomg the base of the catchplate flap suggests a two-piece Colchester Derivative brooch (i.e. with Harlow-type spring mechanism). Extant length 28.5mm. A copper alloy Medieval heraldic harness pendant, dating from about AD 1200-1450. The quatrefoil-shaped pendant has an integral suspension loop at the top, which is turned 90° to the pendant. In the centre of the pendant is a square with a lion passant facing left on a blue enamel field and from each side of the square protrudes a fleur-de-lis on a red enamel field.
