An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman brooch of uncertain type, probably dating to the 1st or 2nd centuries AD. The brooch is missing an undetermined amount of its upper portion, including head, spring mechanism and pin, as well as crossbar; its cross-section at the break is lozenge-shaped. The head seems to have been arched slightly, tapering into a relatively straight body, which is sub-triangular in plan and lozenge-shaped in cross-section. A complete copper-alloy Roman brooch of P-shaped type. At the head of the brooch is a separately cast iron axis bar, which is held in place by the flattened head of the bow being folded around the axis bar and flat against the back face of the bow. The rounded terminal end of the head is visible projecting from the back of the bow. A separately cast iron spring chord and spring of 14 coils are coiled around the axis bar. An incomplete Post Medieval cast copper-alloy double loop buckle, c. AD 1550-1650. The remains of the buckle consist of both oval loops, with an overall moulded vine scroll decoration in a sunken field; the frame has beveled inner edges from the reverse face. The frame has been bent slightly at the centre, raising up both loops. The buckle measures 36.2 mm long, 28.8 mm wide (maximum at loop), 2.5 mm thick and weighs 5 grams. Cf. Whitehead 2003, p. 68, no. 425.
