An incomplete copper alloy object from the late Iron Age to early Roman period (c. 300 BC - AD 100), missing a separate iron shank now represented by a cylindrical area of corrosion transversely across the centre on one side. The object itself is a solid copper alloy cylinder expanding to a swollen centre with a transverse raised ridge. At each terminal is a pair of circumferential transverse grooves. A corroded, damaged and incomplete cast lead-alloy medieval pilgrim's ampulla. The artefact is flask-shaped, with a rounded, sub-circular lower chamber. The upper half is broadly rectangular, seemingly expanding slightly at the top. The top has suffered extensive losses on both sides and the suspension loop/handle lugs are now missing. Level with them is a puncture through one face. Below this the lower chamber is depressed diagonally across most of its surface. A medieval cast copper-alloy D-shaped strap-slide, dating to AD 1350-1400. The buckle consists of a flat rectangular edge with small circular rivet hole, oriented perpendicular to the buckle loop. A collared knop projects from the centre of the outer loop edge. The rivet hole measures 1.6 mm in diameter; the rivet itself is missing.
The object measures 21.32x16.39mm and weighs 2.9 grams.
Cf. Egan 1991, p. 94, no. 421, which is dated to the 14th century and mentioned as part of a set with two matching strap slides in Hume 1863 (plate X no.6). A similar example from Sussex has bee…

Description: Silver annular vervel. It is made from a flat circular ring, with a rectangular cross section. On one side is the inscription '[I or J] : Bruen of'. There are two designs, one on either end of the inscription, that consist of four sets of three incised lines that come to a point, with all points facing inwards. On the other side the inscription reads 'Stapleford in' and there are two designs, one on either end of the inscription. Each consists of five incised lines, one longer and placed centrally, all meet to a point and the point is in the direction of the inscription.

A copper alloy finger-ring fragment of unknown date. The oval bezel remains with a small part of the hoop intact; the rest is broken away. Within the bezel are the remains of a pale paste; presumably there was once a gem or glass setting held in place here, which is now missing.

A cast copper alloy Post Medieval harness mount. Quatrefoil plate with small rounded knops in the angles between each foil. The reverse has two incomplete integral fixing prongs, both bent outwards. Mounts of this form are generally dated to the 17th century. The mount is 37mm long by 35mm wide and is a dull brown to green colour with no trace of gilding, silvering or other surface treatment.

A medieval to postmedieval copper alloy mount with a recurving hook at one end. In plan, the mount is flat and square with three rivet holes at the centre. All three rivet holes still contain rivets. One rivet hole is positioned below the other two, forming a triangular shape. At the bottom of the mount, there is an integral hook which recurves at the back. The hook is attached by a rivet to the singular, bottom rivet hole on the mount.

A complete Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age flint arrowhead (2700 BC-1601 BC).
This arrowhead has been manufactured on a flake as part of a bulb of percussion can be seen on the ventral face. It is sub-triangular in plan and cross-section. Each face has been retouched throughout the length of each side. The tang tapers is in width and thickness to an oblique base.
The flint is grey with a reddish tinge and there are small areas of buff cortex at the tip on the dorsal face and at the base of the tang.

A complete postmedieval cast copper alloy belt mount. In plan the mount is roughly triangular in shape; the top has two arches, and the straight sides taper towards the bottom where there is an integral recurving hook at the back. A separate circular ring remains on the recurving hook. The main body has two circular rivet holes. Belt mounts of this variety are often referred to specifically 'sword belt hangers'. It is probably 17th century in date.
