A lead or lead alloy ampulla. In plan it is an elongated sub- semi circle with a narrowed broken upper edge. The break is not recent. Both faces of the ampulla are decorated, but one face the design is very feint and indistinguishable. The other face is decorated with a scallop design. The sides of the lateral edges of the remains of integral loops. The surface of the ampulla has developed a light cream/brown coloured shiny patina. A lead or lead alloy spindle whorl. In plan it is sub-circular and in profile is bi-convex with a central circular perforation which is 9.5mm diameter, through the apexes. The spindle whorl is undecorated. The surface of the spindle whorl is slightly oxidised and therefore is a mottled cream/light brown colour. It measures 28.03mm diameter and stands 14.44mm thick. It weighs 46.5g. It is difficult to date lead spindle whorls, but anywhere between the Roman and Medieval period.

The stem is oval shaped in section and is solid except for the terminal which is tubular. The bit has a narrowed rectangular block, with a longer more slender rectangular block integral to the lower edge. The surface of the key has a traces of a dark green coloured patina. A copper alloy Medieval seal matrix. The matrix is a flat-backed type, which is a pointed oval in plan but has severely abraded edges distorting the shape. The reverse of the matrix is flat and decorated with a transverse rectangular ridge. A possible fragment of a copper alloy cooking vessel body or hollow leg. All the edges of the body fragment are broken, but not recently. The external surface has a horizontal wide rib which may be a casting seam, and also has a vertical seam off-set on either side of the horizontal seam. A cast copper alloy cooking vessel leg/foot. The leg is a sub-trapezoid in plan and in profile it is sub-triangular. The upper edge is broken but it is not recent as the patina covers the break. The base of the foot is sub-trapezoidal with the narrowest edge forming the reverse edge. The leg and foot is decorated on the outer face with a prominent, integral vertical ridge which is sub semi-circular in section. The surface of the leg has a mottled green coloured patina. A cast copper double looped oval shaped buckle. The loops are undecorated. The loops expand in width towards the apex. The reverse is undecorated and flat. The strap bar is narrowed, and is a rounded trapezoid in section. In profile the buckle is flat. The pin is missing. The buckle frame has an abraded surface with an incomplete dark green patina. The buckle measures 20.56mm long and 17.5mm wide. It weighs 1.4g. Egan and Pritchard (2002 Dress Accessories Boydell Press) date a similar shaped buckle (No. 339) to the mid 14th to mid 15th century.

An impersonal Medieval seal matrix: The matrix is a pyramid type, made from copper alloy. In plan the matrix base is circular. The reverse of the matrix has a hexagonal sectioned stem which terminates with a narrowed lozenge shaped lug with a circular perforation at the centre. The device on the base of the matrix has a possible lombardic G. The interior terminal of the G ends with a triple strand. Above and below the G there is a feathered leaf or fine branch. Fragment of Early Saxon gilt copper alloy Great square-headed brooch, an incomplete footplate with both side lobes, the terminal lobe and parts of the edges missing. The inner panel and upper borders are decorated with Style I ornament, and the former with a small round boss. The lower borders are stamped with annulets. There is an incomplete catchplate on the reverse. Hines 1997, Group III. All breaks are ancient. Extant length and width 36 and 25mm. c.520 - c.550.

A set of Early-Medieval copper-alloy tweezers. An apex loop links two arms of equal form. Each of these arms is of 'D-shaped' section and has sides which bow inwards at the centre, flaring at either end. Slightly more than half of a post-medieval lead alloy button with an incomplete integral loop and casting seam on the reverse and, on the front in low relief within a zig-zag border, the upper part of a long-haired bearded and crowned bust facing left (i.e. to dexter), between the letters C and R, both between a pellet above and below. Cf. an example from Weeting-with-Broomhill, Norfolk (SF3527). The portrait is of Charles I. Diameter 32mm. 1625-49.

A lead-alloy cap from a post-Medieval powder flask. The now-squashed cap has a flat, oval base, above which the sides flare towards the opening. No trace remains of any suspension lugs. Dimensions: maximum width: 24mm; height: 18.1mm. Weight: 14.27g. Powder flask caps are common finds from Civil War period sites. As well as providing a cover for the flask's spout, they also served as a measure, with one capful being the optimium amount for one musket firing. This piece probably dates from the mid 17th century.
