An unidentified copper-alloy object that may possibly have functioned as a chatelaine. It is sub-trapezoidal with a narrowed section near the shortest edge. The longest and shortest edges have a row of circular perforations and have shallow scalloped edges; there are three perforations (the outer two broken) along the shorter edge and four (one end one broken) along the opposite edge. Incomplete medieval copper alloy thick sheet harness mount for the suspension of a pendant, a rectangular plate (now rolled into a roughly tubular shape) with three attachment holes and an integral suspension loop mid-way along one edge that retains a copper alloy spindle within a fold. Opposite this a small part of the edge is missing. All four sides and edges are followed by a frame of two engraved lines flanking a line of punched annulets. There is no extant trace of gilding, which may well have veen present. c.70 x 17mm (23mm at the suspension loop). 12th century.

The copper-alloy head survives intact, the separately cast iron shaft or pin now mostly missing due to post-depositional corrosion.
