A cast copper alloy T-shaped brooch length 22mm, width 14mm, thickness 12mm, weight 5.38g. The brooch has cylindrical wings in cross-section which hold the axis bar (the left wing is missing), a slot in the rear for the pin which is missing. There is a rectangular recess on the apex of the bow. The lower part of the bow is truncated resulting in the loss of the catch plate. Date 70-150AD

Lead cylindrical spindle whorl, this is plain with a large hole in the centre (31mm diameter, height 14mm, weight 69.49g). Plain spindle whorls and weights were cast locally in lead from the Roman period to the Post Medieval Period and are hard to date precisely.

Cast copper alloy buckle plate. The forward part of the plate is sub-rectangular with three slots in the forward edge. The central slit still retains the base of the pin, while the two flanking slots would have held the buckle frame (now missing). Behind this the plate narrows before curving outwards into two curving projections or wings, these had a wide base and narrow towards the tip where there is a roundel on the forward edge. Lead ampulla length 49mm, width 33mm, thickness 10mm, weight 33.26g. The flaks chamber is circular, with a short rectangular neck above. The base of the neck is flanked by two small handles, only the base of the right side on remains. One side of the chamber is decorated with a scallop shell. The other side is decorated single vertical line that has a trapezoid shape at the top on the right side, this could be a single headed axe, or a banner with a flag at the top. Halfway up the shaft is a reversed S halfway up the pole.

There is a rectangular hook on the forward edge and a trapezoid tab on the rear. Single rivet hole at the rear. Artefacts such as this have been discovered during excavation in York which dated to the 15th and 16th centuries (Ottaway & Rogers, 2002, 2937-2939)

Copper alloy sword or dagger pommel. This is a long rectangular pommel that has an oval cross section (23mm by 18mm) with a hollow interior and a rounded top. The aperture at the base is round with an internal diameter of 15mm. At the top is a round hole (7mm in diameter) which is encrusted in iron corrosion, this is where the tag passed through the top of the pommel. Cast copper alloy strap end length 39mm, width 11mm, thickness 3 mm weight 3.17g. Rectangular shape with slightly convex edges. The forward edge of the strap end has a crude animal facemask. The main body of the strap end is decorated with a sinuous knotwok beast whose head faces the back of the strap end. At the rear of the strap end id a V-shaped notch, this is also slotted for the strap with two rivet holes for attachment. The decoration is in the trewhiddle style with white paste in the recesses.
