An incomplete copper-alloy handle from a Roman skillet or patera. The handle is trapezoidal in plan with concave edges which expand toward both ends and rectangular in cross section. The end which would have attached to the vessel is wider at 27.4mm than the other broken terminal which is 24.6mm wide. The top surface of the handle is decorated with a molded male figure standing right with one hand on a hip. The figure is unclear but appears to have cloven feet, an erect penis and possible horns. A complete Post Medieval cast copper-alloy handle, from a chafing dish (c. 1500-c. 1600). This handle is mainly a heart-shaped frame in plan. The bottom of the heart has a small straight bar with the attachment lug (the top) the two longer sides that flare out to rounded corners are straight and the lower side has a large 'V'-shaped notch. A complete but misshapen post-Medieval cast or wrought lead-alloy vessel (c. AD 1500-c. 1700). This 'bird-feeder' vessel was semi-circular in cross-section prior to being damaged. It has a semi-circular base and the sides flare upwards towards the plain rim. At the front it is decorated with two horizontal and parallel raised 'ribs'. Below these features it has engraved initials D S and on the base there is a cluster of punched dots. The rear face is plain.
