The copper-alloy core of a silver plated copy of a denarius of Septimius Severus dating to the period AD 196 to 211 (Reece period 10). Illegible reverse type. The coin has two semi-circular cut outs at 3 and 9 o'clock on the obverse. These semi-circular cut-outs are a feature of numerous coins from this assemblage and it may be that they are votive in nature.
