An unidentified silver object. Treasure case no. 2012 T489. The object is cylindrical with a suspension loop attached at the side. The cylinder has been made from sheet silver, folded to form a cylinder and then soldered along the abutting join. At one end, where it is slightly misshapen, its maximum diameter is 11.36mm and at the opposite end, the diameter is 9.24mm. The outer face has three evenly spaced flat silver bands that encircle the cylinder, one at each end and one at the centre. These are soldered to the surface. An Early Medieval copper-alloy zoomorphic, niello- inlaid strap end. The strap end is 45mm long and sub-lozengiform in plan with the attachment end truncated square to the main axis. Located towards the attachment end there is a pair of small circular rivet holes, each hole being positioned nearer the sides. One of the holes contains the remains of a copper-alloy rivet. For 10mm the attachment end is split into two, parallel to the face, in order to accommodate the strap which would have been held in place by the two rivets. An incomplete Early Medieval copper alloy Anglo Saxon strap end of Thomas Class B, type 1 style. The strap end is 36.5mm long and is square-ended and parallel sided (4.6mm wide, 3.6mm thick) for 24mm from the terminal end, at which point itflares to a wedge shape 8.6mm wide. It has fractured at the attachment end across the mid-point of the two circular rivet holes that would have held the strap in place. GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse type depicting Emperor advancing right dragging captive and holding standard. Mint unclear It has a diameter of 16 mm and weighs 1.4 g. The coin has received some small circumferential losses, in two main areas.

An incomplete post-Medieval cast lead cloth seal from the city of Augsburg, Germany (c. AD 1500-c. 1625). A two part seal: Disc 1: A pine cone, the heraldic badge of the city of Augsburg. A trefoil is situated at each side of the pine cone. Disc 2: Largely missing. The stub of the rivet has an ornate initial letter A representing the place name. The joining strip is missing.
