Slate spindle whorl, oval in plan and flat in profile, with parallel faces, a smooth flat edge, and a slightly off-centre perforation. The perforation is about 6 mm in diameter at the surface of each face, and has been drilled from each face, but has only just met in the middle, exposing a small hole about 0.6 mm in diameter. Both of the apertures are off-centre, suggesting that the whorl would not be quite balanced while used in the spinning process, and perhaps this is why the piece was never completed. Incomplete cast lead seal used for flour with the names HOSKEN & SON HAYLE. embossed on both faces. W. Hosken & Son was started by William Hosken of Carwin Farm, Phillack in 1852 when he commenced milling at Loggans, a mill still standing, bearing the date 1852 on its south gable. A cast, copper alloy dome-shaped "pimple" button of Post Medieval date. It has a wire attachment loop. The button probably dates from the late 15th or 16th century. It is undecorated except for a prominent, raised pellet in the centre.It is a silver/grey colour and probably has a high tin content. The button is 12.99mm in diameter and 4.83mm thick. It weighs 2.4 grams. Compare to BH-2776F2 and SWYOR-BO99A2.

A complete Medieval cast copper-alloy strap slide (c. 1150-c. 1400 AD). The slide consists of a single rectangular loop, oval in cross-section. It has a pair of opposed internal abraded projections about mid-way along the sides of the frame. This very worn fitting has no patina and the surface colour is dull reddish brown. 18.68 x 30.02 x 3.17mm. Weight: 4.70g. Egan and Pritchard (1991: 234) illustrate a number of similar examples, including ref. 1256 and ref. 1259 which they assign to a late 12th to late 14th century date. A corroded and damaged cast copper-alloy hooked mount of post-medieval date. The mount is sub-trapezoidal in plan with a cusped upper edge. It tapers towards the hook (now missing), widening slightly just above the hook. The recurving hook has been squashed inwards at its tip. The mount is broadly flat with slight bevelling on its upper surface. It features two iron rivets, one towards the upper edge, the other just below the centre of the plate. The leg and foot from a corroded cast copper-alloy Roman bow brooch of probable 1st-century AD date. The sub-triangular catch-plate survives well and has a curved inner side. It features two opposing broadly triangular perforations within a zone slightly recessed from the sides. The curved element which retains the pin is 18.6mm long, with some abrasions along its length.
