A fragment of a late Medieval to early Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy purse frame, circa AD1450 - AD1550. The piece is partly bent, and is "V" shaped in cross-section at one end where it was broken in antiquity, and tapers to a point at the other. There is surface decoration of a single chevron of double lines adjacent to the break. A single hole 2.1mm in diameter in the edge of the frame, would have helped attach it to the purse fabric by sewing. An incomplete late early-medieval (late Anglo-Saxon) - medieval copper-alloy cloisonné enamelled disc brooch (late 10th - 11th century), of the Saunderton type (Weetch Type 20.A). The brooch is constructed from a base-plate of copper alloy with six equidistant rounded projections, though one has been broken off. A circular copper-alloy collar, 19 mm in diameter, has been soldered onto this base plate and set within the collar is the cloisonné enamel pattern. A cast copper alloy fragment from the bow of a Roman trumpet brooch (75-175 AD). The fragment comprises the mid part of the bow; the head and foot are lost through old patinated breaks. It is crescentic in plan and oval in cross section. It is decorated with a central real flanked above and below by stylised acanthus leaves. The lower edge shows the top of a mid-rib which would have formed the catch plate. The fragment is a mid brownish green colour with a good and well preserved surface patina. A fragment of a glass vessel of post-medieval date. The fragment is sub-rectangular and very thick producing a dark blackish-green colour. Due to the relatively small portion of glass now remaining it is not possible to determine the exact nature of the vessel from which it originated. The glass fragment is 60.8mm long, 31.3mm wide, 8.4mm thick and weighs 28.2g.
