A cast copper-alloy weight of Medieval or Post-medieval date. It is most likely a coin weight. It is square in shape and rectangular in section with slightly bevelled edges. There are possibly three circles punched in the top but these could be due to post-depositional damage. It measures 10.70mm in length, 10.24mm in width, 2.30mm in thickness and weighs 1.72g.

Lead alloy button. Cast plano-convex button with the stub of an integrally cast loop on the back. The front bears a decorative design incorporating two straight sided fields - possibly originally more intersecting - and five irregular pellets. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1700.
Diameter: 16.5mm, Thickness (clear of loop): 4.3mm, Weight: 6.7gms.

A cast copper-alloy weight of Medieval or Post-medieval date. It is most likely a coin weight. It is square in shape and rectangular in section. Both faces are decorated in the same way, there is a circle punched in two cornes with a third in the centre. Below this, in the centre of the edge is a reverse d shaped impression with what appears to be a stylised horse inside. It measures 15.13mm in length, 12.68mm in width, 3.55mm in thickness and weighs 4.58g.

A cast copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It is a circular domed mount with a flat back and a central, integral square rivet which is slightly bent. The face is decorated with a central circular pellet surrounded by six more evenly spaced pellets within a border. It measures 12.38mm in diameter, 15.16mm in height and weighs 1.82g.
It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 833).

Possible Knife Handle fragment. Cast rectangular plano-convex object, lightly dished on its back. The display face bears closely-spaced cross-hatched lines with a smooth terminal from which a subdivided triangular motif extends into the hatched field. A rivet hole of diameter 2mm appears off-centre here. Broken at the other end and abraded along the edges, and lightly bowed along its length. The hatching presumably afforded grip. A copper alloy circular seal matrix dating from the 13th or 14th century and depicting a mermaid with long bent-up tail, holding her tail in one hand and a fish (with head uppermost) in the other. The reverse of the matrix is not decorated but has a central thicker rib with a lug at one end (corresponding with the top of the matrix design) which is pierced by a circular suspension hole.

A cast copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It is a circular flat mount with a flat back and a central, integral square rivet which is bent. The face is decorated with a central circular pellet surrounded by four evenly spaced pellets at the compass points with spirals between, all within a border. On the outside edge there are two opposing knops made up of three circular pellets and two comprising a single pellet between them. It measures 15.97mm in diameter, 9.85mm in height and weighs 3.45g.
It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 815).

A copper alloy Roman gilded disc brooch. The brooch is circular and divided into three zones by bold concentric ribs The central rib is raised higher than the others. This form of brooch usually contains a conical glass setting within the raised rib, but this is missing on this example, leaving an empty cell. The outer two zones are decorated with a pattern of alternate Xs and vertical lines. A lug and catchplate are present on the reverse. Lead ampulla, one side lug intact, the other broken. The top has been distorted. One face is decorated with a scallop shell of Spencer's (1990) type II, and on the other face an R beneath a lily in lily pot (compare with Spencer 1980, 16, no.39). Dimensions of >28 x 52 mm. The scallop shell represents pilgrimage, the lily-pot represents the Annunciation and the Virgin's purity, and the R may stand for the Lady Richelde of Fervaques, the 'founder' of the shrine at Walsingham. Dates to the 15th-early 16th century.

The pendant is shield shaped with a worn projection from which the suspension loop would have extended from the centre of its top edge. The face is decorated in the form of an acorn with a double transverse border seperating the shell from the nut. The shell is decorated with cross hatched lines. It measures 32.77mm in lemgth, 15.49mm in width, 1.85mm in thickness and weighs 4.40g.

Description: A gilded silver hat-hook or cap-hook, dating to the 16th century.
The cap hook has a circular baseplate, with alternating triangular and openwork rectangular scallops around the edge. The S-shaped hook is soldered to the reverse of the back plate, though the pointed hook end is missing. The baseplate supports a dome with applied filigree wire arranged in trefoil forms in a filligree wire circle. In the centre of each trefoil is a silver bead.
