The ventral surface is convex due to a bulb of percussion at the proximal end which has been flaked. The flint is dark brown colour with cream inclusions throughout. A complete but unfinished axehead of probable Neolithic date. The axehead is ovate in plan, being narrower at the butt end than the cutting edge and is sub-rectangular in section. The right edge tapers smoothly from the ventral and dorsal surface to join in a sharp pointed edge while the left edge has not been so heavily worked and the two surfaces are joined by a wide right angled edge. The scraper is a oval with flat base, the dorsal surface has one central arrise with several negative scars and cortex present at the distal end, a small amount of retouch is present. The ventral surface in pano-concave with a clear striking platform and bulb of percussion at the distal end with cracking ripples emanating from it.
