Late post medieval Russian cast lead or lead alloy flax seal, probably eighteenth century in date and heavily worn. Probably relating to the import of flax from the Baltic to the Fylde. Two holes have been passed bottom to top though the seal. The sealing cord would have passed through the holes. Relief inscriptions on both sides. The NO:9 on the obverse refers to the length of fabric measured in Dutch els. The inspection date on the reverse is incomplete but appears to be either 1775 or 175? AD. A nearly complete cast copper alloy Post Medieval furniture fitting with a terminal in the form of a palm tree. The fitting consists of a circular piece of copper alloy pressed into the shape and detail of a palm tree fronts, beneath which protrudes a circular-sectioned trunk, which widens slightly, ending in a bell-shaped base with two raised circular collars. A post medieval silver threepence of Charles II dating to c.1664-70. This has been gilded and pierced at the 12 o'clock position on the obverse. Clearly the intention was that the coin might serve as a pendant. The display of the king's head in this way may well also have had an ideological element. This adaptation of the coin would, in all probability, have been carried out shortly after the coin's issue. Coin issued c.1664-70, adaptation in the late 1660s or 1670s. 18mm diameter, weight 1.38g.
