An incomplete post-Medieval cast white metal spherical animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800 AD). The sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top is 10.93mm high, 9.21mm wide and 2.86.mm thick and has circular perforation. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided equally by a horizontal circumferential joining rib. At either side of the suspension loop there is a circular sound hole. Prior to being broken there were two sound holes integral with a slit in the lower hemisphere. A copper-alloy bracelet of probable Late Roman date. The artefact is complete but slightly distorted, probably as a result of post-depositional damage. The bracelet is of penannular form and of simple construction, having been made from a single length of square-sectioned wire which has been twisted into a 'cable' form. This decoration does not extend to the terminals, where the ends of the wire taper into two overlapping points. Dimensions: 84.1mm wide, 71.1mm deep (terminals to back), 2.8mm thick. Weight: 10.29g.
