Oval buckle frame with tapering strip pin in paler green patinated alloy decorated with two transverse grooves near loop, offset, narrowed bar protruding slightly at sides, and decoration on rounded outside edge consisting of a pair of punched ring-and-dots and five short oblique lines of finely engraved interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. Part of one arm of a small trefoil brooch. The herringbone motif within a frame is "geometric ornament based on an acanthus design" (Kershaw 2009, 314-5, fig. 9). Stubs of obliquely set pin lug surrounded by iron staining on reverse. Dimensions >16.5 x >14mm. Thickness 1.7mm. Dates to the 10th century.

Suspension unit for ?censer (or ?balance) comprising a short conical, round-sectioned spike, most of which is missing, and radiating from below its base three D-sectioned arms decorated with moulded transverse grooves and each terminating with a lug on the flat underside. The object is in rather abraded condition, and it is uncertain whether the lugs are complete and unpierced or whether transverse perforations have been lost. Incomplete, probably military, harness fitting: a disc with one short stretch of original edge extant. In what would have been the centre of the slightly convex face there is an integral circular loop, and near the edge on the other one a rectangular loop of rectangular section, probably one of a pair. The circular loop is similar to one on a smaller disc from South Shields (Allason-Jones and Miket 1984 3.959). Diameter (estimated) at c.34mm. Round loop internal diameter is 7.5mm. Rectangular loop measures 15.5 x 8.5mm.

A copper-alloy openwork fragment, probably from a harness pendant (previously recorded as a furniture mount). The pierced plate might have originally been circular. If so then approximately one quarter survives, with the outer band comprising an arcade of at least seven cut-out arches (those at both ends being broken) with imposts, and a tiny lobe at each junction between the arches on the outside edge. Incomplete triangular sheet mount or appliqué from a stave-built bucket. One end (the upper) is straight. Vertical break at possible mid point, the other broken edge oblique and following weak point along repoussé decoration comprising lines of stamped rectangles forming a possible eye within bordering lines. Height >33mm. Width >24mm. Compare the triangular appliqués with anthropomorphic decoration from Fetcham (ford), Surrey and Howletts, Kent (Cook (2004), Figs. 16 a and 17 e). Dates to the late 5th-early 6th century.
