A microlith formed on a bladelet of grey brown flint. The left margin has been abruptly retouched and blunted along its length forming a point at the distal end. The right margin is unretouched and sharp with a small natural nick in the edge. It may have been hafted with the blunt edge set with resin into a groove in a wood or bone tool. Butler(2005) illustrates a small lanceolate piece on page 101, fig 39, 14.

A complete 'snapped' flint blade of probable Mesolithic date (6500BC - 3500BC). The flint blade is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and triangular (crested) in cross section. The bulb of percussion and lower half of the blade have both been removed through snapping. The dorsal face shows three ridges (crests) where previous blades have been removed fro a core. The long edges have been rolled in the soil but there is no evidence of retouch. The flint is a mid grey mottled colour with large areas of mid cream grey coloured mottling. A large and complete flint blade of probable later Mesolithic or Neolithic date (6500BC - 3000BC). The flint tool is formed on a flake like blade which is broadly crescentic in shape being a dark mottled tan brown colour. The bulb of percussion is present but trimmed on the ventral (lower) face. The section thickness varies with the area behind the bulb being thickest whilst the opposite end being relatively thin. Brownish yellow flint flake. It is a by-product of the shaping of a larger irregular lump of flint, so that regular shaped pieces can be taken off it to work into tools. The piece removed from the parent nodule (or core) is irregular in outline and is termed a flake. There are no indications that it has been subsequently worked or used once removed from its core. A feature of this flake is that on the more irregular face it shows evidence of other flakes having been previously removed from different directions on the core before this piece was detached. Reddish brown flint blade. Probably local to the area where it was found, originating from the glacial clay or perhaps river gravels. It is a by-product of the shaping of a larger irregular lump of flint, so that regular shaped pieces can be taken off it to work into tools.
