Copper alloy seal matrix. Cast hexagonal-section handle with apical suspension loop. A strongly defined device is incised in a circular die. This illustrates a contraction mark resembling a yoke, surmounted by a cross potent; the ends of the 'yoke' are trifid, probably representing lis. Below this is a central pellet, above the letters IhC (for Jesus Christ). Malcolm Jones kindly read the inscription, which is set between two grooves, as the common *PRIVE SV* (I am private). A corroded cast lead weight, probably a pan weight of post-medieval date. The weight is circular in plan with some bevelling and abrasions from the smaller upper surface to the larger lower.
