A silver cut halfpenny of Henry III. The obverse has a forward facing bust and the legend: hENRI [---]. The reverse has a voided short cross with quatrefoils and the legend: [---] ON CA[--].
The coin was minted in Canterbury, and probably belongs to North class 7 or 8, No. 978-983 (minted 1217-1247) but the degree of wear to both faces makes precise identification difficult.
