Object type: HARNESS MOUNT
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Kirklees
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete cast lead alloy harness mount dating from about the late Post-Medieval to early Modern periods (1750-1900). The mount is a circular disc of lead alloy which is probably part of a Post-Medieval bridle boss. The edges have broken and crumbled; the body has been slightly bent out of shape. The mount has a creamy brown and grey patina. A likely parallel for this object may be seen at PAS record ID: SW…

Object type: WEIGHT
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: County of Herefordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable later Medieval or Post Medieval date (1350 - 1650). The weight is broadly circular in plan and rectangular in cross section. The edges around the front face are faceted; one side is damaged due to an old and heavily abraded break. The design on the front consists of a concentric pattern with an irregular star formed from a vertical and saltire cross placed at the centre. This is enclosed by a single raised ring which in turn is enclosed by a further ring with a series of irregular triangles on its inner edge (forming a tooth like pattern). T…

Record ID: SWYOR-549FC3
Object type: TOKEN
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: North Yorkshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A lead alloy uniface token of probably Medieval or Post Medieval date. The design is a geometric pattern (Powell type 9) of lines formed of conjoined solid triangles. There are two lines across the base, with three lines radiating from the centre of the upper line. There are also initials (Powell type 2): a letter S on the left and a B with a gap between the two loops on the right. The letters are untidy. Compare to SWYOR-54B783 which may be a crude copy of this token. It was found in the same field.
