A cast, copper alloy sword belt fitting dating from the post-medieval period, AD1500-1700. It consists of a flat body decorated with a floral and foliage pattern. It has a small knop at one end, and expanded into a fleur-de-lis terminal at the other. The wide end is damaged and may have extended into a loop or hook fitting. There is some ferrous corrosion in the centre of the wide end which might be the remains of a rivet.
There are a number of similar belt fitting on the database; for example HESH-51ADE4 and SWYOR-B7BD55.
