An incomplete strap fitting of the 'ball ended' type of late early-medieval to medieval date (c. 11th century). The plate is of openwork form, with two circular apertures between three rounded lobes at one end, and a rounded T-shaped hole at the other. The complete end of the item is formed by a horizontal bar with three equally-spaced three dimensional lobes along its length, the central lobe being slightly larger than the two at the corners.
