A silver threepence of Elizabeth I. On the obverse is a bust left with a rose behind the head and the legend: ELIZABETH.D.G.ANG.[---]. On the reverse is a square shield with long cross fourchee and the date above the shield (though this is too worn to read) and the legend: [---] DE[-] AD[---] M[--]. The coin has an obverse initial mark of a plain cross, indicating a date of 1578-80. It belongs to Elizabeth's second issue coinage and corresponds to North No. 1998.
