A lead papal bulla of Pope John 22nd (Papacy: 1316-1334). The artetact is sub-oval in plan, the sides bowing inwards at the point of the vertical perforation. On the obverse is the relief moulded image of the inward-facing heads of St. Peter (right) and St. Paul (left) and, above, the legend 'SPASPE' (abbreviation of 'Saint Paul, Saint Peter'). A beaded border surrounds both heads, extending at the top into a border for the bulla itself. A sceptre divides the two heads. An incomplete copper-alloy book clasp, dating from the Late Medieval period. The piece represents the lower portion of a composite clasp. The upper part of the surviving piece has a rectangular 'plate', from each of the two top corners of which projects a right angled, perforated lug. The now-missing axis bar would originally have been contained within these lugs and would also have held in place an upper element, creating a hinged fitting. A copper-alloy harness pendant of Medieval date. The central portion of the pendant is roughly circular, with six equally-spaced lobes projecting outwards from the edge. The central device takes the form of a stylised flower, each of the three stems terminating in a segmented oval head. This design is slightly raised and traces of gilding survive upon its surface, while the surrounding field contains the remains of a dark blue enamel infill.
