An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval buckle frame dating from about 1100 - 1300. The lipped single oval frame is a D-shaped in plan but the bar is not narrowed nor offset. There is a pin notch on the lip of the frame and a ridge on the bar where the pin would have been attached. It and the plate are now missing. The back of the frame is concave, and the outer edge is angled. The buckle frame has a dark brown patina. Length: 18.1mm; Width: 21.8mm; Thickness: 3.7mm; Weight: 2.27g

A cast copper alloy Post Medieval mount. The object is in the shape of an acorn, with a length of stem projecting to the side of the acorn cup. The upper half of the mount represents the acorn and is separated from the lower half by two horizontal, parallel incised lines. The lower half of the body represents the acorn cup. There are two integral rivets on the reverse, one broken and one bent. This object was probably for mounting onto a strap, either a personal belt or a harness strap. Compare YORYM-258015.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy attachment loop from a drop handle of Medieval date. The upper half of the loop is missing due to old breaks. It was probaly oval shaped in form with an oval shaped aperture, is oval shaped in section with a transverse collar at the base. Beneath the collar is an integrally cast cylindrical rivet with flattened round head. The surfaces of the loops have extensive tool marks. A Fragment of cast copper alloy Early Medieval brooch, either a cruciform or a small-long type dating from the 5th or 6th century. Only part of the lower bow of the brooch survives. There is a tapering flat area beneath the bow, decorated with two transverse grooves. Beneath this is a D shaped sectioned area, also decorated with three transverse grooves, with another flat area below that before the break. At the centre of the rowel is a circular aperture. The entire object measures 26.63mm in external diameter, 3.65mm in thickness, and weighs 4.96g. An incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy annular buckle pin, probably from the 14th century. It has an incomplete loop that tapers towards the end, where there is an old break. Outside and below the loop is a rectangular moulded collar. The shaft tapers slightly towards the end; on the underside of the tip, there is a small worn area that may be the notch. The pin is subrectangular in plan. It has a dark green patina. The pin is 46.45mm in length, 7.15mm in width, 4.75mm thick and weighs 4.1grams. A similar brooch pin can be seen on the database SUSS-1E8091 and KENT-7A8BC3.

A clipped, silver penny of Charles I (1625-1649). The penny is worn but the depiction of a bust on the obverse and an oval shield on the reverse indicate the coin belongs to North no's 2263 - 2266. The initial mark is not discernable but would either be a rose or a plume indicating that the coin was produced from 1630-1632. The coin was produced at the Tower Mint.

Small fine igneous rock ball, probably greenstone but awaiting geological comment by Roger Taylor. The ball is circular in plan and ovate in profile and section, with pecking all over the upper surface and a flattened base, perhaps through grinding or hammering. Such pieces do turn up on domestic sites but not in any quantity compared to mullers and rubbers. A copper alloy, silver plated contemporary copy of a shilling of Charles I (1625-1649). The forgery is probably based on Group A and Group B shillings, North no's 2216 - 2220. The 'real' Group A and Group B shillings were produced from 1625-1628. The obverse shows a crowned bust facing left with an XI behind the head. The legend is not discernable. A corroded cast lead rod, perhaps a pencil of medieval or post-medieval date. The object is a long, thin cylinder. It has a circular cross-section with one pointed tip; the other end has been flattened into a wedge shape with rounded corners. This latter has been twisted slightly in profile. This artefact is plain and is a grey/white colour with a heavy patina which covers all other surfaces. Similar pencils have been recorded on this database, e.g. NARC-88EE88, and can be seen illustrated in Egan (1998, 271; fig. 209).
