A Roman cast copper alloy figurine, in the shape of a bird. The figurine appears to have broken off from a much larger object as a stump of copper alloy projects from the upside of the bird's stomach.
The birds itself looks like an egal or dove. It has its wings out stretched - the wing span measures 33.1mm. From head to tail the bird measures 31.1mm. Feather detail can be seen on the bird's wings and tail and two engraved rings indicate the eyes. The bird's beck has been broken slightly, resulting in the loss of the tip. Likewise the tip oone wing is broken away. The head is off centre with what appears to be a pointed plumb. It would appear that the bird would have once had legs, but these have broken off. All that survives of the legs are two small stumps, either side of the attachment stump on the underside of the bird. it weighs 20.16 grams.
Simialr example can be seen on the database: LVPL-CEC272, SUSS-A29F66

Iron Age copper alloy openwork strap fitting. It is oval in plan with openwork motifs formed of a central small pelta with a smaller inverted pelta below and a larger pelta to either side. There is a small oval opening located towards one of the longer edges; this opening has a U-shaped projection on both faces, with the open side of the projections on the outer edge of the fitting. These two U-shaped projections are H-shaped in section, with the middle bar of the H' formed from the main body of the fitting, and are presumably reinforced to accomodate a narrow leather strap. Both faces are decorated with irregularly spaced recessed circles, creating a stippled effect.
It is 29.87mm long, 25.60mm wide, 2.53mm thick, increasing to 7.06mm around the support for the strap. It weighs 9.67 grams.

A Post Medieval cast copper-alloy mount of probable 17th century date. The mount takes the form of a convex oval plate with slightly concave back . It has egg-shaped centre flanked by constrictions at top and bottom from which expand fan or shell shaped terminals. There is a larger terminal at the wider end of the central plate and a smaller one at the point. The terminals are decorated with incised radiating lines on the front and indents on the outer edge. Extending from the reverse are two integral attachment spikes. They are circular in section and both have old breaks near the start with only stubs remaining. Compare SOM-CBFD40.

A copper alloy seal matrix of Post Medieval date. The matrix itself has a rectangular face with rounded corners. From each corner and side of the matrix the sides taper up to form a stem with a central collar. A smaller second collar above that leads to an integral circular suspension loop. The suspension loop terminates a small knop on the top. The hole in the suspension loop is aligned parallel with the longest axis of the rectangular matrix and is filled with iron corrosion from a means of attachment. The matrix face is too corroded to be able to make out the design. Compare SUSS-E502E0.
