An extremely worn copper alloy Roman nummus, probably of Crispus or Constantine II, under Constantine I (306-337). Mint unknown; reverse type suggests a date of c. 320-321 AD. Obverse depicts a helmeted cuirassed bust facing right; obverse legend illegible. VIRTVS EXERCIT reverse type depicting a trophy standing on ground with a captive seated at either side. Writing on trophy is unclear, but present. Reece Period 16. Cf. RIC VII, p129, No. 107 for one example. For a similar obverse and reverse type of this coin on the PAS database, cf. BH-3B8AF6.

The obverse shows the veiled head of the deified Constantine, emperor in quadriga type, but the reverse is probably from a PIETAS ROMANA coin of Theodora. The coin is incomplete.
