A clipped and worn Medieval silver short cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272 AD). Moneyer: probably Ledulf; London mint. North Class 7b, c. 1222-1236 AD. The obverse depicts a crowned bust facing with sceptre interrupting legend which begins at 10 o'clock; legend reads: hEN[RICVS R-EX]. The reverse depicts a voided short cross with quatrefoil in each quadrant; legend reads: [L]EDVLF ON [LONDON]. Cf. North 1994 Vol I, p223, No. 979.
