A fragment of a rosette or thistle brooch dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period. Part of a flat, incomplete headplate remains with part of a bow. The headplate is now crescent shaped. The metal has a reddish patina.

An incomplete cast copper alloy leg or foot from a copper alloy vessel probably a skillet or posnet of later medieval date (1300 - 1600). The foot is broadly sub-rectangular in plan tapering in width from the top to the base. In cross section the foot is a triangular shape. The upper edge of the foot is broken with an uneven surface. The base of the foot is irregular with a relatively flat section. The front face has a large vertical D shaped rib extending from the broken top to the base. Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is a blade with retouch. Both lateral edges and the proximal end have retouch. The distal end is broken. The lateral margins are retouched from the ventral face and the proximal end from both faces. The flint is mottled brown in colour. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble but this is difficult to confirm with only tertiary cortex. Mercer illustrates a similar piece on P131 Fig 57 No L109 which he dates to the Neolithic.

Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is a blade with use wear on both edges. Both lateral edges have use wear. They are almost denticulated. There is primary cortex on the dorsal face. The ventral face has use wear but no scars. The flint is transparent dark grey in colour. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble by the look of its primary cortex. Mercer illustrates a similar piece on P129 Fig 56 No L101 which he dates to the Neolithic.

An incomplete cast copper alloy possible Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type) brooch of Roman date (80-120AD). The brooch is incomplete, the head, and part of the bow survive. The foot, spring, the pin, bow, wings and catch plate are missing. The wings of the brooch are incomplete appear to be undecorated and the sub circular wing caps are missing. The back of the brooch is plain and undecorated.The brooch is heavily corroded. The brooch measures 23.45mm length, is 10.3mm width across wings and 10.6mm thick. It weighs 3.0grams.

A very worn Roman radiate of Carausius dating to 286 to 293 AD (Reece issue period 14). This coin is a brockage; instead of a reverse there is an indented obverse. It measures 22.6mm (diameter) x 1.8mm (thickness) and weighs 3.54g. This coin has been considered for Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
