The proximal end has been snapped above the original platform. The ventral face has no apparent retouch. The dorsal face has retained secondary cortex an dlong parallel semi-abrupt retouch towards the distal margin of this fan shaped piece. The junction of the sharpened adge and the snapped end makes a sharp point which ha sbeen further enhanced by the retouch and removal of the cortex. The flint is light grey in colour with white cortex. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble by the look of its secondary cortex. Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar piece on Page 139 F…

Object type: LITHIC IMPLEMENT
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Nottinghamshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Lithic implement, probably local. The object is a flint flake. It is sub-oval in plan and has not been very carefully knapped. It would probably have been placed on a flattish stone and hit with a pebble. There is possible evidence of use along the thinner edge for cutting however due to the character of the flint, slightly rolled and weathered, it is uncertain. It is likely to date from the mid Bronze Age, (2000-1400BC).

An incomplete, corroded cast copper-alloy double-looped trapezoidal buckle of post-medieval date (17th century AD). The loops are trapezoidal in shape, with the outer edges of the frame are angled to create an outward facing triangular point at each end. On one of these points it is possible to see a trace of gilt below the corrosion. In the centre of the other triangular protrusion is a corroded mass of iron; this is representative of a now absent iron pin, the tip of which having fused. The buckle has a narrow central pin bar which terminates in two rounded knops that protrude beyon…
