Notched flake and has an edge trimmed as well. Notch is the more dominant feature and it is better to call the flake a notched flake. The trim is on the right hand side, down towards the area where the notch is located. The flint is a light grey, almost chalk like, colour and was likely derived from a local beach pebble. Mercer [1981] illustrates a similar example on page 129, Fig 56, No. L97 which is dated to the Neolithic.

A copper alloy jetton. The only similar jetton to be found for comparison appears in Mitchiner, Volume One, page 235, which has been attributed to the 15th century of uncertain origin. The edges are chipped and legends are unclear if present. Obverse: Christ the King, nimbate and crowned, enthroned and holding a sceptre. Reverse: triple stranded straight cross fleuretty with lis in each angle within a compound 4-arched tressure. Robert Webley (FLO for Hampshire) suggests that this is more likely to be a french issue rather than an english one.
