Roman cast copper alloy mount, probably from a casket or item of furniture. It was found near to an almost identical mount recorded on this database as ESS-C55282. The mount is in the form of a female bust. The head is oval with cast features. The eyes are oval, and pointed at the end making them appear almost lozenge shaped. Roman cast copper alloy casket or furniture mount. The mount is cylindrical with a flat circular base with the remains of a corroded iron rivet. There are two raised ridges around the circumference of the mount, with a slightly convex area in between, measuring 8.16mm wide. Immediately after the upper ridge, the mount reduces in diameter with concave sides before widening slightly before terminating in a flat circle with a slight depression around its circumference.
