Pottery body sherd made of gabbroic clay that weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars, dark augite and mica and is mid-brown on the interior of the sherd, with some black patches of residue, and bright orange on the exterior where the surface has eroded away to reveal with oxidised core. This 'mucky' gabbroic fabric is seen in comparable local Grooved Ware vessels, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).

Pottery rim sherd made of gabbroic clay that weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. There is a deep groove on the upper surface of the rim within an external everted rib. Below the rim are some small impressions but a pattern is not obvious. This sort of stepped rim corresponds to those on other Grooved Ware vessels, particularly of the Clacton style (Manby, 1999, 61).
