The proximal end of a flake or blade of mottled cream in light grey flint. On the slightly oblique break facet there is a short run of abrupt retouch which may be the remains of a broken through notch associated with the microburin technique for producing truncated blades. Butler(2005) illustrates a microburin on page 91, fig 34, 5

There is a small notch on the ventral side of the left margin and the distal end has been shallowly retouched as an end scraper. A thick blade of dark grey flint with cream flecks. There is a patch of pebble cortex on the distal end. This has a pinkish hue and may be a sign that the pebble was heat treated prior to it being used as a blade core. The dorsal surface carries parallel and opposing blade scars. The proximal end has been removed by a straight truncation which has been shallowly retouched as an end scraper. There has been slight edge-work on the left margin. The right margin has a mesal notch or hollow side scraper.Butler(2005) illustrates a blade on page 107, fig 43, 2

A few blades have been struck from the opposing lower platform. The back of the pebble has been worked from the lower platform, but was only prepared with cortical flakes removed and an abraded edge, ready for blades that were never removed.
