Flint scraper or waisted tool, oblong in plan and lozenge shaped in profile. On the dorsal side the distal end is broken and the proximal end possibly snapped. The left margin has retouch mid way. On the ventral side there is retouch scarring on the left margin. There is a bulb of percussion on the proximal end. The flint is mottled pale to mid grey in colour with a dark cream secondary cortex. Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on page 133, Fig. 56, No. 5 which is dated to the Neolithic period.

A translucent brown flint truncated flake with dark grey and marbled mid grey inclusions. The distal end has been truncted straight as has the proximal end but close to the bulb of percussion as dorsal platform preparation abrasion is still visible. There are parallel sharp margins and straight dorsal ridges. The margins are utilised with fine use wear. Mercer(1981) illustrates a truncated flake on page 143, fig 63, L196.

The left proximal end has been retouched to straighten the edge. The piece may have been used as a cutting flake with the pebble cotex on the right margin backing it. A thick cortical flake worked invasively into the cortex with fine parallel ripple flaking around the margin except for the proximal end.The edge has been finished with stepped retouch to make it continous and un-serrated. The scraper has been exposed to damaging heat and has altered to opaque white with large cracks almost breaking it. Mercer(1981) illustrates a scraper on page 135, fig 59, L140.

There is crude, bold retouch around most of the margin through the flawed flint. Parts of the flakework is undercut and abraded from use. The round object exposed under the cortex is a fossil bivalve shell. Mercer(1981) illustrates a scraper on page 135, fig 59, L140.

On the dorsal surface there is a heavily abraded edge as though there was an attempt to start the flaking face of a core. The distal facet has been shallowly abruptly retouched as an end scraper or to sharpen the spur on the distal end of the left margin. Mercer(1981) illustrates an edged flake on page 129, fig 56, L95.

A thick opaque cream grey and mid grey banded flint flake with an approximately pyramidal dorsal surface carrying truncated flake scars from different directions. It may have been removed from an exhausted and hence multi-platform core. The flake has a distal point. The left margin leading to it has been semi-abruptly retouched on its ventral side. On the opposite right convergent margin there is a notch. The flake scars are lustrous, suggesting that the flint may have been heated. A fragment of knapped flint knife - or possibly a reworked projectile point of later Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date (2900 BC - 1800 BC). The flint is sub-triangular in plan and an irregular trapezoid in cross section. The flint has been worked from a larger flake and the ventral face shows evidence of conchoidal ripples. The two long edges of the dorsal face show evidence of significant retouch which has been applied through pressure flaking; these have created a neat serrated edge. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman plate brooch, a gilded disc type dating from about 200 - 350 AD.
