An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman pin, probably a hair pin. Cool Group 1. it has biconical, with a globular head and flattened bottom. The shaft is circular in section and broken just below the head. It is plain, with no decoration. It is in good condition, although with old breaks. The pin is covered in a dark green patina. It measures 16.24 mm L x 7.32 mm DIA (head) x 3.15 mm DIA (shaft) and weighs 1.52 g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval buckle dating between 1300-1450. The frame is a single loop that is sub-rectangular in plan, with convex arms, and rectangular in section. It has a copper alloy rectangular sheet folded around the end bar; the sheet has a transverse copper alloy convex bar at its end, held in place by a copper alloy rivet. It is in good condition, with the plate missing. It has a dark green patina. It measures 17.76 mm L (with the rotating closure extended) x 11.46 mm W x 3.85 mm TH and weighs 1.21 g.

Post medieval copper-alloy double-loop buckle frame. The loops are rectangular with the triangular outer sides widening to a central point. The inner and outer edges of the loops and the sides of the strap bar are angled. The narrowed strap bar has a rounded knop protrusion at each end. The pin is missing. Similar buckles are illustrated by Whitehead (1993:82), for example no.512, which he dates to AD 1620-1680.

A post medieval cast copper alloy dress hook. The central plate is oval extending into a point at the hook end ending in a trefoil terminal. The hook extended from the central leaf of the trefoil but is now entirely missing to a break. The front of the central plate is moulded with a raised line outer border containing raised floral/foliate decoration. The trapezoid attachement loop is attached opposite the hook. A round flake of tan flint with opaque cream inclusions.The distal end is crushed with flakes removed from both sides. and full length bladelets separated from the ventral surface by striking the flake whilst putting it on end on an anvil stone. After use as a core the right ventral edge has been slightly serrated for use as a cutting flake. The original ventral surface has slight cream patination so it may have been harvested in the Later Prehistoric for these uses from a scatter containing the flake. Mercer(1981) illustrates a utilised flake on page 131, fig 57, L110.

A blade shaped flake of translucent brown flint with bands of dark grey and cream. The dorsal surface has both longitudinal and transverse flake scars and the lateral margins are wavy. The proximal and distal ends have been obliquely truncated. There is a small facet of abrupt retouch on the distal end and on the adjacent left margin there is a short run of fine semi-abrupt retouch. On the lower dorsal surface there is a small patch of gloss, possibly associated with use of the flake. Mercer(1981) illustrates a truncated blade on page 143, fig 63, L196.

The blade has then been truncated straight and exposed to damaging heat which has altered it to an opaque cream grey colour with crazing. Head and part of shaft from a gilded silver pin, possibly middle Anglo-Saxon in date. Globular head, wider than it is tall; broken circular-sectioned shaft. No collar between head and shaft. There is gilding on the head and shaft but the pin is otherwise undecorated. Perhaps medieval or post-medieval, but more likely to be middle Anglo-Saxon, 8th or 9th century; there is a parallel in terms of material and basic shape, although with spiral grooved decoration and a collar, on the database at LIN-D22765. Diameter of head 8mm. Surviving length 13mm. Weight 1.83g.

A cast copper alloy mount of probable medieval date. The mount is circular in plan and decorated with an openwork design depicting a quadruped, possibly a dragonesque beast or gryphon though the mount is too worn for this to be securely identified. The reverse of the mount is flat and undecorated with no signs of any means of attachment. The metal is a light brownish-green colour and is worn. The mount is 39.2mm in diameter, 2.8mm thick and weighs 12.6g.
